Research Areas
The CDRC has conducted national and international research having continuous federal funding for more than three decades. During this time, CDRC researchers have developed several hundred large research projects funded by a wide array of agencies including the National Institute on Drug Abuse, the Agency for Health Care Policy Research, the National Institute of Justice, the National Institute of Mental Health, the National Cancer Institute, the American Cancer Society, the Centers for Disease Control, the Centers for Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and a variety of State of Florida departments as well as not-for-profit health care agencies and corporations. Since 1994, substance abuse and related research such as HIV/AIDS have accounted for more than $200 million in funding. Publications from these funded projects have grown to more than one thousand journal articles and book chapters.
